Awesome e-mails and Heavy Weight

Check out this e-mail we got from a special forces individual…or soon to be.

Hey Rob,

Just wanted to say thank you. Me and 10 other guys did the strongman wow in conjunction with or runs, rucks, and bodyweight exercises for PT before we left for SUT(small unit tactics). Because of the strength we gained from it, especially the heavy lunges, higher box jumps, and diverse exercises, we were all able to easily handle the 100+ pound rucks we had to carry for 8+ hours for 8 weeks. We also came out injury free and look forward to continuing to follow your site as we finish the SFQC(Special Forces Qualification Course). Thanks Again from all of us at IODA 9113!

LIFT HEAVY!…Just like Rob’s doing in the video below:

Inverted Situps Anyone?

Check it out. Rob’s boy, Logan, knocking out a few reps of inverted situps. How many can YOU do?

Backflips!

Check out Edson hitting a solid standing backflip. He’d done a few just moments before, but it’s been a while since he’s tried them (hence the mat) :)

Katie Burke’s First Bar Muscle Up!

Congrats Katie!

Stone to shoulder…AT 73 YEARS OLD!

Proof that strongman isn’t just for 300 pound men.  Check out this 73 year old woman lifting a Hybrid stone to her shoulder…yes, that’s a 65# stone!  Step your game up :)

Ryan Lochte does Strongman

Yep, it’s true, US Olympic Swimming medalist augments his time in the pool with strongman!

Strongman Training
Besides a relentless schedule that has him in the pool nine days a week (totaling 50,000 to 90,000 meters), Lochte augments his workouts by training Strongman-style each Sunday under University of Florida strength coach and former Strongman competitor Matt DeLancey. These “Strongman Sunday” sessions are no joke: In them, Lochte tosses kegs, clings and presses logs, and drags a 500-pound chain (pictured) back and forth (what DeLancey calls the “man-maker”). Lochte is hoping that the program will set him apart in 2012. “We’ve made it to where it has helped me in the pool,” he says of the increased endurance, among other benefits.
